The Secret Garden

“The Secret Garden is an 800 m² space designed for the conservation of native flora and fauna species from our region. It is one of the access points and a must-visit if you stay with us. Here, you can spot wonderful birds like the Cheje Woodpecker, the Bajeño Pygmy Owl, a small owl, the blue-feathered jay, the Greater Black-backed Oriole, and the Collared Aracari, among others.
We also get visits from raccoons, little foxes, and opossums. If you pay close attention, you might also see iguanas, frogs, and many curious small creatures.
All the trees you see are native species, and the ground in the Secret Garden hasn’t been modified or filled to preserve the natural magic, which is why you will walk along a beautiful elevated bridge as you explore it.
Inside the Secret Garden, we have a marvelous light installation. As night falls, the firefly effect lights and the amazing jellyfish sculpture made from recovered beach cleanup plastic and fiber optics create an incredible experience.
In the Secret Garden, at tree-top height, we’ve prepared an open-air kiosk for yoga, meditation, or exercise with the breeze and the birdsong as your background music.
At YOUR APARTMENT IN MAHAHUAL, we care for the environment and protect your senses by connecting you directly with the jungle.”
